Summary sources

Published summary reviewed October 25, 2026.

NCA reports 36 jumping and 12 standing horses, two chariots, and three rows for the 1914 Stein & Goldstein carousel. Numeric totals come from the census, not the operator's membership page.

Sources: NCA classic wood carousel census and operator context.

Census figures may describe an older configuration, not a current physical survey. Sections are unverified and are not inferred by dividing figure counts by rows. Existing wiki values are preserved when they differ from these published figures.

Layout research limits

Reviewed October 25, 2026. NCA photographs identify both outside-row jumpers and outside-row standers, so mount totals do not establish a simple ring assignment. Chariot photographs alone did not establish a complete angular sequence or radial spans. Seat-column counts and exact chariot positions remain unresolved; the pavilion's side count is not used as the carousel's section count.

Source: NCA Hartford photograph collection, including a chariot photograph. No positions are inferred solely from the published 48 horses and two chariots.

The park describes public carousel operation, with a January through March maintenance closure.

Listed as an operating attraction by its operator; seasonal schedules and temporary closures may apply. Check the official website before visiting. This is not a guarantee that the ride is open today.
