Contribution terms & privacy
Version 2026-10-27. These terms apply to contributions submitted after you agree. All editors, including administrators and existing account holders, must agree before further editing.
License for new contributions
By agreeing, you license the new original text you contribute to carousel-o-pedia under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). You retain your copyright and permit others to share and adapt that text, including commercially, subject to the license's attribution and ShareAlike requirements. Read the full legal terms for the governing license.
Your agreement does not automatically relicense earlier contributions or material owned by someone else. It covers your new original writing, not rights you do not own. Citations, external links, quotations, and pre-existing material are not blanket-licensed by this policy. Facts themselves may not be protected by copyright.
Credit contributors using the page URL and its public history, identify the license, and indicate changes as required by CC BY-SA. Check the history and source notes before reusing material: this is not a claim that every existing page or passage is CC BY-SA. A later account suspension or end to your participation does not revoke a license already granted for your contributions.
Contribution ground rules
- Submit your own writing and only material you have the right to contribute under these terms. Do not paste copyrighted descriptions from other sites. Citing a source is not permission to copy it.
- Cite factual changes, distinguish observations from inferences, and leave unknown values unknown. Follow the editor guide.
- Do not post private personal information, harassment, spam, or misleading material.
- Edits are public immediately and may be corrected or reverted. Discuss disagreements respectfully; the administrator makes final moderation decisions and may suspend or restore editor access.
Accounts and privacy
Your chosen display name, contributions, and edit history are public. Use a display name you are comfortable publishing; it does not have to be your legal name. Do not put private information in edits: earlier versions can remain in public history.
The site stores your email address, display name, role, password hash, and the version and time of your contribution agreement. Email addresses are visible to administrators, not shown as public edit attribution. Sign-in sessions store an IP address, browser user agent, and timestamps. Cookies maintain sign-in and session state. Operational logs and private backups may also contain account or request data.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives browser requests. Following external source links takes you to sites with their own privacy practices.
On the production site, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate traffic and page performance, including page views and referral sources. Your browser sends these measurements to Cloudflare. This analytics service does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. See Cloudflare's Web Analytics privacy information.
Suspension prevents sign-in and editing and revokes existing sessions; it does not delete your account or remove attribution. Account information and history are retained for administration, attribution, and recovery. Avoid sharing passwords or invitation links. For account questions, content concerns, or privacy requests, see the current contact arrangements. There is no public contact address yet.
